WOMB is a creative space, A LIVING LAB, dedicated to the healing of our hearts, community and nature.
Humanity is at a crossroads, we cannot continue on the unsustainable path. While many of us know this to be true, to break free from the system of destruction seems impossible. Many of us dream to find solutions, but in our crazy, over worked lives we don't have the TIME to find out how. Time, our most precious commodity is one of the core principles at Womb because we realize that the process to discover alternative ways of living is time, practice, the willingness to make mistakes....and to try again.
>>::::>>:<<::::<<
These are the areas we are currently experimenting:
>>The Gardens: We have two gardens; one below and on the roof, as well as greening at least two other public spaces. We are also in the process of implementing urban permaculture, with the goal of growing almost all of our daily food--with room to share-- as well as make our own soaps, incense, teas, perfumes from our land. We are perfecting our compost and creating our own rich soil.
>>Energy: Our goal is to 100% off the grid using solar energy.
>>Water: We want to install water capturing tanks as well as create a system of grey water from our showers and dish/clothes washing that will be used to water for our plants etc. We also will be investigating the possibility for compost toilets.
>>Trash: We aim to be 100% no trash. Anything that enters WOMB must be made into something beautiful. All events at WOMB will follow these principles. A fundamental creative parameter of the Artists in Residence Program is based in a no trash policy, the solutions our artist find will then be sold in our Tienda, a special place for people to buy our upcycled pieces of art.
>>Sustainability for Artists and Healers: We are committed to supporting artist and healers to give their gifts without having to squander their precious talents in meaningless work in order to survive. We are working with enlightened investors to come up with long term-financial solutions. Check out our membership program to learn about our ideas.
>>::::>>:<<::::<<
Womb is an invitation to all those who are ready to take the leap into a he(art)ful way of urban living, one that knows humanity is just scratching the surface of our capacity to create the most beautiful world we know is possible.
