Residency Program

About the Residency
*Welcome to the Womb Residency*
An oasis nestled in the heart of a vibrant, authentic Mexican neighborhood — a sanctuary where artists can dream, create, and simply be. Unlike other residencies, Womb is rooted in a deep commitment to the well-being of the artist, offering a space where inspiration flows freely and rest is a vital part of the journey.
Here, the space itself becomes the muse: a beautiful environment designed to ignite your creativity and nourish your spirit. Womb is a haven that encourages reflection, meditation, and the quiet moments that are just as vital as production. Whether you seek to forge new projects, explore your inner landscape, or simply immerse yourself in art’s sanctuary, this is your home.
We are especially seeking artists who feel a call to activism, who understand that art plays a crucial role in social change. Our community offers the opportunity to be a part of creating a positive impact in the lives of people who do not normally have access to art. We encourage all residents of Womb to imagine ways of contributing to the local community, fostering connections that extend beyond the walls of our oasis.
Our program is a celebration of holistic artistic life. Surrounded by local artists and a thriving community, residents are welcomed into a world of constant inspiration — with curated dinners connecting you to neighbors, potential collaborators, and the community at large. From our rooftop vistas to communal workshops and immersive neighborhood tours, every aspect of Womb is dedicated to fostering connection and creative exploration.
Artists arrive at Womb to find a nurturing environment where support is seamless — whether crafting a performance, an exhibit, or simply reflecting on the process. We prioritize both the active and contemplative phases of artistic life. The residency experience encompasses two phases: the productive, where ideas are brought to life and creative projects are actively developed; and the restorative, where artists are nourished by the environment, taking time to reflect, meditate, and rejuvenate — allowing inspiration to deepen and future creations to germinate. During your time here, you will also have access to a curated menu of Womb events — music, poetry, art, and more — enriching your journey with the dynamic creative spirit that pulses through our community.
Womb is more than a space — it is a heartfelt invitation to reconnect, to rejuvenate, and to be inspired by the magic that unfolds when art, environment, and community intertwine.
